Ask me Anything on Data using GathrIQ

GathrIQ includes a powerful feature called “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) that allows you to interact with your data through natural language questions. The responses are presented in a pivot table format, which you can further explore or add to your workspace.

Steps to Use Ask Me Anything on GathrIQ #

1. Access GathrIQ:

   • On your Gathr Analytics home page, click on the GathrIQ icon. This will open a dialog box with several options.

2. Select Ask Me Anything Option:

   • In the dialog box, you’ll see three buttons:
     • Create Dashboards
     • Create Visualizations
     • Ask Questions About Your Data
   • Click on Ask Questions About Your Data to start using the Ask Me Anything feature.

   

3. Ask a Question:

   • A text input field will appear where you can type your question.
   • Example: “What were the total sales by region in Q1 2024?”
   • Press Enter or click the submit button to ask your question.

   

4. Receive Response:

   • GathrIQ will process your query and respond with a pivot table displaying the relevant data.
   • The pivot table will be shown in the chat window for easy viewing.

   

5. Expand or Add Data to Floor:

   • You can either:

     • Expand to Full Screen: Click the expand icon to view the pivot table in full screen for a more detailed analysis.

     

     • Add to Floor: Click the “Add to Floor” option to integrate the pivot table into your current workspace.

     

6. Ask Follow-Up Questions:

   • The chat window is conversational, meaning you can continue to ask follow-up questions based on the previous query.
   • Example: After asking about sales by region, you might ask, “What were the total sales in Asia in Q1 2024?”

   

7. Switching Datasets:

   • If you wish to switch datasets, start a new conversation by selecting a different dataset from the list. Note that switching datasets will reset the current conversation.

8. Filter and Adjust Data:

   • The pivot table preview includes data scope filters based on your query. You can:

     • Edit Filters: Click the edit filters icon beside the applied filters to adjust columns, criteria, and values before finalizing the view. You can also add multiple filters by clicking on Add Filter.

     

     

     • Drop on Floor: Once satisfied, drop the pivot view onto the floor.

     Note: Filter editing will be disabled after adding to floor action.

Important Notes #

• Recursive Queries: Ask Me Anything supports recursive queries within a single conversation for deeper insights.
• No Suggested Questions: The Ask Me Anything feature does not include suggested questions; it’s fully driven by your input.
• Data Source (DS) List: The list of datasets is displayed as it is in the visualization/dashboard options.
• No Changes to Existing Flows: The introduction of Ask Me Anything does not alter the existing flows for visualizations, dashboards, and formulas in GathrIQ.
