Avalara AvaTax Connection

Avalara AvaTax is a cloud-based tax compliance solution that simplifies and automates sales tax calculations for businesses.
This topic describes how to authenticate to Avalara AvaTax and configure any necessary connection properties in the Avalara AvaTax connection connector.
Connection Configuration
Each connection property available in the Avalara AvaTax connector is explained below.
Connection Name
The name of the connection to be created should be provided. This is the name that will display on the list of available connections.
Auth Scheme
The type of authentication to use when connecting to Avalara AvaTax.
Possible Values
Basic
If Basic is selected, additional configuration parameter will get listed.
User Name
The Avalara user account used to authenticate.
Password
The password used to authenticate the user.
License Keys
If License Keys is selected, additional configuration parameter will get listed.
Account ID
The account ID number of your Avalara account.
The Account Id is listed in the upper right hand corner of the Avalara admin console.
License Key
The license key generated by an account administrator on the Avalara website.
You can generate a license key as follows:
Log into Avalara as an account administrator.
Select Settings.
Select Reset License Key.
UseSandbox
A boolean indicating whether you are using a Sandbox account.
The provider makes requests to the production environment by default.
If you are using a production account, this property can be set to False.
Advanced Configuration
This section contains advanced configuration parameters.
Company Code
Only transaction information tied to this company code will be returned.
Add Configuration: Additional properties can be added using this option as key-value pairs.
After entering all the details, click on the TEST button.
If the connection service identification and authentication details are provided correctly, a success message stating “connection available” is generated.
Click on the CREATE button to save the changes.
If the details are incorrect or the server is down, you will get a message “Connection unavailable”.
