Compute Setup in Gathr

Gathr empowers users to harness the full potential of their cloud resources by offering a Compute Setup feature. This feature allows you to seamlessly integrate your cloud accounts with Gathr, enabling the deployment of applications created in Gathr on your owned and managed clusters.

Currently, Gathr supports AWS and Azure Databricks accounts, and support for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) will be coming soon.

  • Only an individual signed up user or an Organization Administrator can create compute setup environments in Gathr.

  • Organization users invited by an administrator cannot create compute environments but can see the listed environments once the administrator maps the registered account(s) to the projects that users have access to.

The compute setup feature allows you to associate your cloud accounts with Gathr, enabling you to run applications on clusters owned by the registered cloud accounts.

Account Registration Restrictions

Currently, you can only register an AWS or Azure Databricks account with Gathr.

If you have already registered an account on one platform, attempting to add an account on AWS, Azure Databricks, or GCP will not be permitted.

To register an account on a different platform (including GCP, once supported), you must first delete the existing registered account. This ensures you can maintain a single active cloud account integration within Gathr.

Supported Cloud Providers

This section lists the cloud platforms that you can add to Gathr for compute environments setup.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

You can link your AWS accounts with Gathr and use VPC endpoint services to manage data traffic securely while running Gathr applications. Follow the steps outlined in the AWS Compute Setup → to register your AWS accounts.

Azure Databricks

Gathr supports the registration of Azure Databricks accounts. You can seamlessly integrate with Databricks clusters and run applications. Follow the steps outlined in the Azure Databricks Compute Setup → to register your Azure Databricks accounts.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Coming Soon!

Support for GCP is in progress, and we will soon introduce the ability to register GCP accounts with Gathr. If GCP support is important to you or if you have specific requirements, please contact us at saas-support@gathr.one
