Applications Introduction

An application is a ready-to-use design template to solve a business problem. Gathr supports two types of applications:

• Change Data Capture (CDC)

• Data Ingestion (available on-cloud)

Change Data Capture #

Change Data Capture comprises of a source, which is the Online transactional database that has to be replicated to a datastore dedicated for BI and analytics.

Often the OLTP (Online Transactional Processing) systems have commercial databases, which write and store data in proprietary format that is hard to read and replicate. The sooner the data is replicated on the target system, the faster it is available for analytics with the help of CDC.

Gathr’s CDC capability provides a wide range of operators and options to create a CDC application with real-time capabilities of streaming live updates on database. There are pre-built CDC solution templates available in the Gathr’s application section that can help you to easily create a CDC application of your own.

In an Application window, you can perform the following actions:

• Create an Application

• Edit Application

• Schedule Application

• Start/Stop Application

• View Application

Application Listing #

Enter the Application listing page within the Project. The existing applications will be listed here. The user can create CDC and Cloud Ingestion applications.
